The サーモン (sah-mon) is a salmon as it is.
If such a familiar fish also puts up the soy sauce to which Japan gave birth, it becomes slices of raw fish. Though this is my selfish image,it is more popular in young persons than elderly persons. My niece loves salmon.
I think that the cost performance is high, because the price is also low. In Japan,it eats the salmon by various methods such as not only Sashimi but also the rice ball, the tea pickle, carpaccio, and sushi.
